Government informed about Minister Davinic’s resignation

Serbian Minister of Education and Sport Slobodan Vuksanovic said today that President of the state union of Serbia-Montenegro Svetozar Marovic informed Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica and the Serbian government that Serbia-Montenegrin Minister of Defence Prvoslav Davinic has submitted a resignation letter on account of objective responsibility.
At a press conference following today’s government session, Vuksanovic said the government has adopted this information and decided that the affair concerning the purchasing of equipment for the Serbia-Montenegrin army should be fully clarified, as well as the circumstances surrounding it.
According to him, this issue is now in the hands of the Special Prosecutor, and the government is expecting him to provide all relevant information.
