The Law on Higher Education has been brought in line with most of the European educational standards found in the Bologna Declaration. The Law was adopted with 145 votes, and representatives of all universities and student organisations in Serbia have taken part in composing the law.
Among other things, the Law on Higher Education also introduces a two-cycle system of university studies, a European marking system, more rights for students and a greater number of single semester courses.
The adopted amendments to the Law on Broadcasting will extend the deadline for transforming RTS, Serbia’s national broadcasting corporation, into a public service, as well as for privatising the electronic media of local self-governments. The amendments were adopted with 128 votes for and one vote against the law.
