Ilic stated that the Genex group and the Austrian company Doppelmayer will put up the remaining funds, and added that the new ski lifts, produced by Doppelmayer, are to be constructed on Pancicev vrh and Mali Karaman.
According to him, the new ski lifts will minimise crowds and shorten the ride to Pancicev vrh to 5 minutes.
Ilic said that the construction of the road infrastructure will continue, as part of the support for the further development of tourism on Kopaonik Mountain, and added that the problems of water supply and waste water purification will be solved.
Genex group representatives announced the reconstruction of ski lanes, the obtaining of equipment necessary for the preparation and restructuring of the ski resort, and the supplying of snow cannons for the production of artificial snow.
The Genex business system has 21 ski lifts on Kopaonik, which cover 60 km of skiing paths. The construction of two new ski lifts will increase capacities from 20,000 to 24,000 users per hour.
A total of 2.6 million skiers were transported up the mountain last winter, and with the new ski lifts, future customers will have a faster and more comfortable trip to the ski runs.
