Newly-appointed judges and prosecutors from all over Serbia took the oath of office today at the Serbian parliament building before the Chairman of the National Assembly, Predrag Markovic. The Serbian Minister of Justice Zoran Stojkovic also attended the ceremony, which was open for the media.

At a special session, held on July 21, 61 judges were elected, as well as 45 court presidents of various jurisdictions, 7 public attorneys, and 20 deputy municipal and district attorneys.
Stojkovic advised the newly-appointed judiciary officials to be honourable, competent and diligent, in order to minimise inefficiency and corruption in the judiciary system, and stated that the first steps have already been taken and that the judiciary reform is showing results.
