The Information Directorate of the Serbia-Montenegrin Council of Ministers has said that the Serbia-Montenegrin Minister of International Economic Relations Predrag Ivanovic and US Ambassador to Serbia-Montenegro Michael Polt signed today a Memorandum of Understanding that grants Serbia-Montenegro a $150,000 donation for the support to the modernisation of the system for issuing permits for foreign trade in arms, military equipment, and dual-use goods.
Given the significance of efficient controls of trade in sensitive goods, the US government has donated a state-of-the-art computer hardware and software package called The Tracker System, according to the statement.
The donation is a continuation of US support to Serbia-Montenegro in the field of regulating exports of arms, military equipment, and dual-use goods, reads the statement.
The Tracker System will assist all the agencies of Serbia-Montenegro responsible for regulating sensitive exports and help to modernise the control of exports from Serbia-Montenegro, reads the statement, adding that the equipment will also help to improve the position of IT companies.
