Serbs from Kosovo-Metohija cannot be uprooted

Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica said last night that it is impossible to uproot the Serbs from Kosovo-Metohija and that the province will remain part of Serbia.
“Songs and dances presented to our audience by ensembles from Kosovo-Metohija had been rehearsed amid fears of attacks and amid the uncertainty that accompanies the life of the Serb youth in the province”, Kostunica said following last night’s concert dubbed the Peony Dawn’s Resurrection in Belgrade.
According to him, concerts like this one send a message to Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija to stay there and to those who have left the province to return.
The concert was staged by choruses and bands from Kosovo-Metohija who must work in conditions worse than in a ghetto, said Kostunica and added that similar events will mean a lot to them in the future.

This humanitarian concert, which aims to raise money for the Serbian government’s Fund for Kosovo-Metohija, was organised by the Association of Serb Municipalities in Kosovo-Metohija under the auspices of the Belgrade City Hall.
Performing at the concert were artists from Strpce, Velika Hoca, Kosovska Kamenica, Zvecane, Leposavic, and Kosovska Mitrovica.
