The Kosovo police stopped President Vucic on the Zubin Potok-Banje road and forbade him to continue towards Banje. Also, several hundred Albanians blocked all roads to this Serbian village this morning, and rifle shooting was also heard during the morning and previous night.
KFOR and KPS said that they cannot guarantee security, and there were more and more armed people among those gathered in the village of Banje. A total blockade was organised at five locations with tractors and trunks. The protest was organised by the presidents of the municipalities of Srbica, Glogovac and other municipalities of Drenica.
Vucic said that he gave up his trip to Banja because he did not want to put into danger the Serbs living there.
I do not like guns, although I am not particularly afraid, but I will never incite people to arms, the President of Serbia said, and reiterated that things should be solved by words and wisdom, not by tools and weapons.
I am even more determined to preserve peace and the Serbian institutions and people in Kosovo-Metohija, Vucic said and expressed his belief that the Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija understand how much he is fighting for them all.
He addressed the inhabitants of Banje over the phone, telling them that he is sorry he couldn’t come because the authorities of Pristina didn’t want that.
After that, Vucic went to Kosovska Mitrovica, where he addressed Serbs from Kosovo-Metohija at the Sumadija Square.
Earlier this morning Vucic visited the Clinical Centre of Kosovska Mitrovica and the location for the “Suncana Dolina” residential project, and he was welcomed by Director of the Clinical Centre of Kosovska Mitrovica Milan Ivanovic.
The President of Serbia delivered valuable equipment and vehicles for the Clinical Centre of Kosovska Mitrovica and the Clinical Centre of Gracanica.
