Director of the Office for Kosovo-Metohija Marko Djuric met today with UN Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs Miroslav Jenca, and presented him with the course of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, and once again emphasised Belgrade's commitment to solving problems in the region by compromise and peacefully.
Djuric stressed the importance of the UN's engagement in protecting the position and rights of the Serb people in Kosovo-Metohija, expressing the expectation that UNMIK will continue to act on the ground in unlimited capacity and status neutral, insisting on respecting UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
The Director of the Office for Kosovo-Metohija also emphasised that it is important that the international is further informed public on the situation in Kosovo-Metohija through regular quarterly reports from UNMIK.
The meeting was also attended by the representative of the UN Secretary-General and the head of the UN Office in Belgrade Simona-Mirela Miculescu, the Office for Kosovo and Metohija said in a statement.
