By sectors, the decline of 4.5 percent was recorded in production and distribution of energy, gas and water, the processing industry recorded a 3.8 percent decline while a 1.5 percent growth was recorded in ore and stone extraction.
The production of capital goods fell 25.4 percent, durable consumer goods 25.1 percent, and non-durable consumer goods 3.9 percent, energy 3.5 percent, while intermediate goods excluding energy recorded growth of 6.2 percent.
Against April 2004, April 2005 recorded a 0.9 percent growth. Eleven sectors saw rise of industrial production, accounting for 68 percent of the industry, while 18 sectors, covering 32 percent of the industry, saw a decline.
