The aim of the law is to adapt secondary vocational education to the needs of the economy, to reduce the unemployment rate of young people up to 25 years of age and to strengthen the competitiveness of the economy of the Republic of Serbia at the regional and global level.
The Serbian government also adopted the bills on pre-school, primary and secondary education.
These bills relate, first of all, to the harmonisation with the proposal of a systematic educational law recently adopted by the Serbian parliament. They redefine the time spent by students in the school, which builds a different picture of the school that should be a place for learning and the development of students, and it also frees space for extracurricular activities that were previously neglected.
The bills adopted also expand opportunities for educational tourism - schools and specialized institutions for children and students with appropriate conditions can become centres for holding classes in nature, which would reduce the costs of such activities, and also help development at the local level.
A new concept of state graduation is introduced which should improve the quality of secondary education and facilitate to students the move to next levels of education.
The Serbian government passed the Decision on the formation of the Working Group for the Implementation of the Jadar Project. The Jadar project represents a significant opportunity for the private sector to contribute to the development of the mining sector in the Republic of Serbia and to be a key driver of foreign direct investment.
The Serbian government passed the Conclusion on the adoption of the text of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Republic of Serbia and the company Taypa Tekstil from Turkey.
