Special Coordinator of the Stability Pact for Southeastern Europe Erhard Busek met today with head of the Coordinating Centre for Kosovo-Metohija Nebojsa Covic and expressed satisfaction with Belgrade’s readiness to start a truly open and frank dialogue with Pristina, noting that “such flexibility on the Pristina side would be more than welcome”.
The Coordinating Centre for Kosovo-Metohija said that Covic and Busek agreed that the status of the province is of utmost importance for the stability of Southeastern Europe and that any change of borders would represent a potential danger to regional stability.
Busek stressed that Kosovo decentralisation must be all-encompassing and not partial.
Covic and Busek noted that concrete everyday problems in Kosovo need to be addressed and agreed to continue cooperation and contacts between the Coordinating Centre and the Stability Pact.
