Opening a four-day workshop on VAT credibility and basic auditing techniques, Ilic recalled that VAT began to be applied in January this year. He stressed that the percentage of payment exceeds 98 percent.
Ilic noted that 171,000 fiscal cash registers have been introduced. He also said that Serbia should have a budget surplus this year as a result of fiscalisation and tax and VAT collection.
The gathering was attended by representatives of tax administrations from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Republika Srpska, Montenegro and Serbia, as well as Slovenian experts.
The meeting has been organised by the Intra-European Organisation of Tax Administrations (IOTA), whose aim is to assist members in Central and Eastern European countries to improve their tax administrations.
