Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov said in a meeting with Head of the Coordinating Centre for Kosovo-Metohija Nebojsa Covic today that official Moscow stands for compliance with UN Security Council Resolution 1244.

Lavrov said that Moscow also advocates compliance with all the provisions referring to the return of Serbs and other non-Albanians to Kosovo-Metohija as well as for ensuring Belgrade’s legitimate interests in the province.
He said that today’s meeting with Covic represents the continuation of close dialogue between Serbia and Russia and he added that the talks will cover a wide range of issues, with an emphasis on the problem of Kosovo-Metohija.
Covic thanked Lavrov as well as Russian President Vladimir Putin on their engagement in resolving the Kosovo-Metohija issue.
Covic is also due to meet with the chairmen of the international affairs boards of both houses of the Russian parliament.
