Djuric said in a statement that it is now clear that whatever the political representatives of Kosovo Albanians in recent months did to raise tensions was only a search for excuses to suspend the normalisation of relations and dialogue with the Serbs and Belgrade.
Belgrade, he said, remains committed to the talks as a means of dispute resolution and alignment of interests with the political representatives of the Albanians.
However, after the public declaration of the Provincial Assembly on the call for an open dialogue and an utterly wrong and illegal attempt to establish the so-called "Kosovo Army", it is clear that not all actors in the dialogue are truly committed to stability and peace, the Director of the Office for Kosovo-Metohija warned.
The Kosovo Assembly has adopted a resolution demanding the unconditional release of former KLA commander Ramush Haradinaj and interruption of dialogue with Belgrade until the request is fulfilled.
The resolution states that Haradinaj's acquittal is a primary obligation, and that the provincial government wants the EU to force Serbia to cancel all warrants and indictments against Kosovo Albanians.
