Director of the Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo-Metohija Marko Djuric stated that the delegations of Belgrade and Pristina reached an agreement in Brussels tonight, with the mediation of the EU, on the implementation of the Agreement on the judiciary of 2015, thus ensuring adequate legal protection for Serbian physical and legal persons in the southern province.

Djuric said in a statement to Tanjug news agency that after months of diplomatic efforts, our delegation has managed to secure with this agreement the recognition and enforcement of judgments and decisions of courts of the Republic of Serbia adopted after 1999 in Kosovo-Metohija, thus ensuring adequate legal protection for Serbian physical and legal persons in the southern province.
He noted that today's agreement has guarantees both by the provisional institutions of self-government in Pristina and by the EU.
The Director of the Office for Kosovo-Metohija underlined that this is an important agreement, given the legal uncertainty to which the Serbs in the previous period have been subjected by the Pristina provisional institutions, and the denial to date of the work of Serbian institutions in Kosovo-Metohija.
The way of functioning and organisation of all judicial institutions in the areas with predominantly Serbian population was also agreed on. The parties agreed how to solve the process of integration of judges, prosecutors and administrative staff, and the date of integration agreed upon is January 10, 2017, the Director of the Office for Kosovo-Metohija explained.
