The conference will gather over 3,000 officials from the EU, United States, Russia, Japan, those countries using EBRD loans, finance ministers, central bank governors, directors of large commercial and investment banks and funds, presidents of leading global companies and many of the most influential representatives of the global economy.
As part of the 14th annual conference, EBRD will host an investment forum that will be opened by EBRD President Jean Lemierre. Serbian government representatives, as well as those from Montenegro, will speak on investment opportunities in Serbia-Montenegro.
Government representatives will present the favourable investment climate in Serbia along with the country's determination to create conditions for further economic growth. Participants in the Forum will be invited to establish cooperation with domestic companies and invest in Serbia. They will have an opportunity to hear about the quality of products and business activities of domestic companies at an exhibition of the Serbian economy named "The Best from Serbia-Montenegro", which will be opened upon completion of the Investment Forum.
Serbian companies that will hold presentations at the forum include Foodland, Stark, Bambi, Fresh & Co., Malina Produkt, Carnex, four companies from the IT industry that produce software and computer components, Tritokaza Ivkovic, Simpo, Hemofarm and others.
The presentations will be conducted in the lobby of the Sava Centre, just in front of the large hall where the meeting of EBRD governors will be held on May 22.
The exhibition aims to educate businessmen from around the world of Serbia’s production capacities, along with some of the competitive advantages to doing business in Serbia, such as lower costs and the access to a market of 250 million people through its free trade agreement with Russia, the only such agreement for any country outside the former Soviet Union.
This event is of great importance for Serbia as it offers many opportunities for concluding business deals and because it provides participants with unique insight into the situation in Serbia so that they may successfully redirect operations here.
