Special meaning of Easter for Serbian people in Kosovo-Metohija

Director of the Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo-Metohija Marko Djuric attended the midnight Easter liturgy at the Gracanica monastery in Kosovo-Metohija, from where he wished happy Easter to all believers in Serbia.

From the churchyard of the Gracanica monastery, Djuric stated that in Kosovo-Metohija Easter has a special meaning for all our people and that on Easter, Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija pray for the resurrection of the power and glory of the Serbian state.
On Easter, the Serbs in the province pray that the Serbian state and the Serbian people be strong enough, to persevere in the difficult times we live in and to fight together to remain and survive in these lands, Djuric said.
He underlined that Kosovo-Metohija, as said by Serbian Patriarch Irinej, is something that binds and unites all Serbs, wherever they live, because the idea of Kosovo lives in all Serbs.
Therefore, here in Kosovo-Metohija, with the love for the entire Serbian nation and with prayers that the glory and power of Serbia resurrects, we wish happy Easter to all believers in Serbia - Christ has risen! Djuric said.
Representatives of the Office for Kosovo-Metohija and Minister for Return at the Kosovo government Dalibor Jevtic also attended the midnight liturgy together with Djuric.
