Speaking at a ceremony at the Cultural Centre in Gracanica, Djuric recalled that the violence was so massive and organised that it could not happen without a long and thorough preparation, and added that its objective was the expulsion of the last remaining Serbs from the province.
According to Djuric, this was prevented by a delayed response of international forces, but much more by heroic determination of our people to stay and survive in these lands.
Djuric underlined that today Serbs live in Kosovo and Metohija, despite everything that is against them, owing to their courage, pride and defiance.
He recalled that 50,000 Serbs used to live in Pristina, over 20,000 in Kosovo Polje and that all these and other people, a total of 247,000, were expelled only because of their ethnicity.
