In an interview for today’s issue of Politika daily, Vucic said that the fight for bringing Serbia into order will take ten years, adding that he would see it as a great success if our country receives the date for starting the EU negotiations in spring.
He said that when he assumed his duty, he found that practically nothing has been done in terms of fighting corruption in the previous period, and that except for three cases almost none of the serious cases have been resolved.
He announced that a number of shady privatisation procedures will be looked into, adding that he has already launched an initiative with the Bureau for Coordinating the Work of Security Services.
Vucic voiced his conviction that the case of Agrobanka will have a logical conclusion, which means that not only those who worked in the bank and took part in sharing the money would answer for their actions, but also the ones who came up with all the transactions and ways to get their hands on the bank’s money.
Speaking about Kosovo-Metohija, he stressed that a national consensus on this issue must first be reached and a clear plan composed.
We will have to make certain concessions, but so will Pristina, and I believe that this is clear to everyone in Serbia, if we want to lead a normal life in our country, said Vucic.
