The Ministry of Finance announced today that the reforms implemented by the ministry, including electronic filing of tax returns and reducing the scope of administrative obligations in the field of accounting and auditing, affected the decrease in the overall administrative costs and the total administrative burden in 2014.
The statement said that the study conducted by the USAID "Project for better business conditions" showed this, adding that regulatory obligations in 2014 cost the Serbian economy 3.46% of gross domestic product.
This is a decrease compared to 2010 when the figure stood at 4.2%, as well as against 2012, when these liabilities amounted to 3.6%.
This practically means that, in comparison to 2010, Serbia recorded a decline in total administrative costs of 15%, so they decreased by a total amount of €1.25 billion in 2010 to €1.14 billion in 2014.
In comparison to 2010, Serbia saw a decline in the overall administrative costs by 15%, and the goal of the Serbian government is to reduce these costs by 25%, the statement added.
