During the meeting it was concluded that there is a mutual desire to improve bilateral relations between the two countries, with special emphasis on economic, cultural and educational cooperation, which should be strengthened through concrete projects.
Dacic expressed gratitude on the continued support of France to the process of European integration of Serbia, recalling that Serbia's EU membership is a priority of its foreign policy and stressed that it is of utmost importance that the first chapters be opened by the end of this year, bearing in mind all the results that Serbia has achieved through reforms.
He underlined that Serbia remains committed to Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, but it does not accept Pristina’s unilateral decisions such as application for UNESCO membership.
Desir praised the efforts which Serbia invests in the process of European integration and underlined that Serbia can continue to count on France's support in this process, meaning that France supports the opening of chapters 32 and 35 by the end of the year.
The French Minister of State for European Affairs also commended Serbia’s activities aimed at improving cooperation in the region, and in particular its good attitude towards migrants.
Also, Desir congratulated Serbia on its great contribution during the OSCE chairmanship and wished a successful work of the upcoming OSCE Ministerial Meeting which will be held in early December in Belgrade, reads a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
