The Prime Minister said that 4.3 kilometres of road from Ovca intersection to Pancevo road is yet to be finished and specified that it is a motorway with three lanes, the best and fastest in Serbia.
The access road which is 7.6 kilometres long was officially opened by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic, Mayor of Belgrade Sinisa Mali and Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Li Manchang.
The Ambassador of China said that this is the first joint project of China and Serbia, and that other important projects are being discussed.
He expressed belief that a successful cooperation will continue and underlined that the Chinese government is giving support to Chinese companies that are investing in Serbia and that political relations are at a very high level.
Li said that a series of agreements will be signed during Vucic’s visit to China in November.
The intersection with Ovca road will be a crossroads with traffic lights which will enable access to Northern Tangent, and the total value of the investment is $44 million.
The section from Ovca road to Pancevo road, which also includes a bridge over the railroad which is 544 metres long and a bridge over Sebes canal which is 120 metres long, has a total length of around 4.3 kilometres.
The so-called Northern Tangent, from the T6 arterial road to Pancevo road, is an access road to Pupin bridge over the Danube, between Zemun and Borca.
Once the entire access road to the bridge is completed, the transit will be removed from the centre of Belgrade.
This arterial thoroughfare will link four roads – from Belgrade to Sid, Horgos, Zrenjanin and Vrsac.
