Long-standing friendly relations of Serbia, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic met last night before the official beginning of the 70th session of the UN General Assembly with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea Ri Su-yong.

The two officials highlighted the friendly relations between the two countries that have lasted since the times of Tito.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has expressed support to the efforts of the Serbian people for the preservation of territorial integrity of Serbia and conveyed the wish for intensifying contacts between the two countries, both in political global arena, and when it comes to bilateral economic relations.
Dacic pointed to the existence of double standards in the modern world, and in this sense, thanked the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on the principled stance when it comes to non-recognition of the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo-Metohija.
The officials also exchanged opinions on other topical issues, such as human rights, reads a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
