The Palestinian Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings of President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas and gratitude for the welcome he had been given during his visit to Belgrade in June this year.
Al-Maliki expressed the hope that a meeting of the joint committee of the two countries will be held soon, which will give a positive impetus to the improvement of bilateral relations.
He thanked for the support of Serbia to the resolution submitted by Palestine, which asks for UN non-member observer states to be allowed to raise the flag at the headquarters and other offices of the UN.
Dacic said that Serbia is considering possibilities to open an embassy in Ramallah.
The Foreign Minister of Palestine expressed his belief that this issue will soon be realised and said that Palestine is ready to help Serbia in searching for a location.
He stressed that this is an important political message, but also a message to businessmen and entrepreneurs, and expressed hope that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia will soon visit Ramallah.
Dacic underlined that the membership of Kosovo in UNESCO is unacceptable and asked for understanding.
Al-Maliki expressed full understanding for Serbia's position and reiterated the position of his country when it comes to non-recognition of the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo-Metohija, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
