Speaking at a session of the Working Group for the improvement of trade and economic cooperation and development of mechanisms of trade between Serbia and the Russian Federation held in Belgrade, Dacic stressed that the government of the Republic of Serbia supports the continuation of institutional contacts between the two friendly countries, which aim to boost economic ties.
The Intergovernmental Committee on Trade, Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation has a very important role in this, and one of its main tasks is to draw attention to the areas where there is unused potential for more dynamic economic cooperation, the Minister said.
Dacic expressed expectation that in the coming period there will be more investments from Russia, but also greater export from Serbia to the Russian Federation and that, in addition to the traditional export of agricultural products and construction services, other opportunities which the Serbian economy offers will also be used, especially in the field of tourism and automotive industry.
Russia is our strategic, political, economic, and one of the leading trade partners. Very good political relations have enabled a stable basis for the improvement of overall cooperation and contributed to making the Russian Federation one of the most important economic partners of Serbia - both as an export destination for Serbian goods and as a foreign investor, Dacic underlined.
