First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic and the newly appointed Ambassador of Finland to Serbia Pertti Ikonen said today that the development of comprehensive relations between the two countries is in mutual interest.

The two officials expressed confidence that the friendly relations between Serbia and Finland will continue to improve in all areas where there is mutual interest.
They also looked at the latest developments in the situation caused by the unilateral decision of Croatia to close some border crossings for freight traffic from Serbia due to the refugee crisis.
Dacic expressed satisfaction with the increased presence of Finnish companies in Serbia, as well as gratitude for the continuous support and expert assistance that Finland contributes to the successful implementation of reforms in Serbia.
The Finnish Ambassador conveyed the support of his country to the process of Serbia's European integration and stressed the role of our country in improving relations in the region.
