Serbian government adequately responds to refugee crisis

First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic met today with MEP Knut Fleckenstein to talk on the current European integration of Serbia and the migrant crisis.

The officails primarily discussed the possibility of opening the first negotiation chapters by the end of this year, as well as the reform process in Serbia.
Also, great attention was paid to the current situation with regard to migration in the region, and it was concluded that measures the Serbian government has taken were more than adequate and in compliance with international conventions.
Fleckenstein, who is also president of the German branch of the humanitarian organisation "Samaritan International", promised financial assistance for the solution of current problems regarding care of migrants in Serbia, in cooperation with our authorities.
