Community of Serbian Municipalities to be set up soon

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic said today that the Community of Serbian Municipalities is the first political power of the Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija since 1999 and that it should be formed very quickly.

The Community of Serbian Municipalities is the first autonomous form that is lower in hierarchy than what we call province, Dacic told TV Pink and added that a possible division of Kosovo- Metohija is not being discussed at the moment.
Speaking about the European integration, Dacic said that the EU is lagging behind because Serbia prepared all chapters for the opening as early as last year, which was also sustained by the European Council.
We were waiting for a political decision for whose adoption the conditions have been met today, Dacic stated.
He said he does not expect it will happen next year, but very quickly, and the most realistic option is to hold the Second Conference by the end of the year, since the first was held in January last year.
Dacic announced participation in the meeting of foreign ministers of the European Union which will be held on Friday and Saturday, and where the issue of migrants will be discussed.
Dacic said that the migrant crisis will not end quickly, because there are millions of migrants moving towards Europe and the EU will have to react to that.
The problem is that all those migrants who are coming to Serbia are not registered anywhere, Dacic noted.
He recalled that Serbia has been facing the issue of migrants for many years, that today it has more than 90,000 requests for asylum in Serbia, that 44.000 people still have the status of refugees, and that there are 220,000 persons who were displaced from Kosovo-Metohija.
