First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic received today Special Representative of UN Secretary General for Kosovo-Metohija and Head of UNMIK Mission Farid Zarif on his farewell visit.

Dacic thanked Zarif for coordination of international troops in Kosovo-Metohija despite constant challenges and expressed special gratitude to him for the efforts invested in the implementation of UNMIK mandate.
Dacic also pointed to the importance of UNMIK engagement in view of creating the basic premises for peaceful co-existence of ethnic communities in the province and safety and respect for fundamental human and civil rights of all its citizens.
Dacic also expressed the expectation that UNMIK would continue to implement its mandate in keeping with UN Security Council Resolution 1244 from 1999 in the time to come, especially with regard to the areas of importance for the survival and normal and dignified life of Serbs and members of other non-Albanian communities in Kosovo-Metohija.
