Djuric underlined that the vital interests of the Republic of Serbia remain to be stability in the province and the normalisation of relations between Belgrade and Pristina, as well as the improvement of the position of the Serbian community in Kosovo.
He informed Zarif about the continuation of the political dialogue in Brussels, which is scheduled for 25 August, and stressed the importance of full implementation of the first Brussels agreement and the establishment of the Community of Serbian Municipalities.
The Director of the Office for Kosovo-Metohija informed the Head of UNMIK about Belgrade's opposition the application of the self-proclaimed independent state of Kosovo for UNESCO membership.
The two officials welcomed the withdrawal of the draft law on cultural heritage from parliamentary procedure in Pristina.
During his farewell visit, given that his mandate in Kosovo-Metohija expires, Zarif expressed his satisfaction over the fact that the authorities in Belgrade and Pristina worked on improving the economic situation in Kosovo-Metohija, and the situation in the field of human rights and the fight against corruption.
Djuric thanked Head of the UN Mission for the constructive cooperation during his tenure as Special Representative of the UN General Assembly and Head of UNMIK, and on this occasion he gave him an exclusive monograph in English "The Christian heritage of Kosovo-Metohija," reads a statement by the Office for Kosovo-Metohija.
