Director of the Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo-Metohija Marko Djuric announced that the Community of Serbian municipalities will be formed in the next three to five months, and that its formation is the focal point of the Serbian political struggle in Kosovo-Metohija.
Djuric said in an interview for today's edition of the daily newspaper "Vecernje Novosti" that Serbia wants this community to have the capacity, and to offer to Serbs living in Kosovo-Metohija in the political and every other way the possibility to decide on and manage their own affairs.
We will fight and win the battle for the creation of the Community of Serbian municipalities, which is the priority of the coalition agreement on which the provincial government currently rests, Djuric stated.
He expressed the hope that relations with Pristina will be normalised until a level that will enable the functioning of normal life, despite the fact that there is a clear disagreement about the status and position of the Serbs in the province.
Our view concerning the status of our southern province will never change. We are ready to protect our vital state and national interests in Kosovo-Metohija, said the Director of the Office for Kosovo-Metohija.
