Djuric said after the meeting that he told Zarif that Serbian representatives actively participate in the formation of the new provincial administration and new provincial government, and that our country supports the participation of Serbs in that government with the aim of solving accumulated problems.
These problems are the seizure by force of the property of the Serbian community in Kosovo-Metohija and the predatory privatisation that is being implemented in the province.
Our message to the Chief of UNMIK was that Serbia, with strengthened capacity after joining the provincial government and parliament, will continue to fight for the right of all its citizens in Kosovo-Metohija, for its every farm, house, monument, as well as for the right that we exist with dignity and survive on our own land, he stated.
According to him, the establishment of the Community of Serbian municipalities, the adoption of the Statute of the Community and the struggle for the implementation of the parts of the Brussels agreement which relate to the Community are the key task in the coming months.
Djuric said the he spoke with the UNMIK Chief about the projects of economic development in the province, and the current political and security situation, adding that he underlined that the stability of the province is the key interest of Serbia.
I am convinced that Serbia can rely on the support and understanding of the UN system. Serbia is, after all, a member of the UN, and the conversation we had was in the spirit of mutual understanding and the desire to achieve what is a common goal, and that is stability, the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija concluded.
