Loncar said that if sustainable development represents a way of thinking of how to organise our lives, including the change of social values, it can be deducted that education should be the improvement of quality of life of individuals and the community.
The Serbian Ministry of Education, as the most important carrier of education development strategy, works continuously on the improvement of quality of education for sustainable development, without which countries in transition, such as Serbia, cannot reach economic standards of the modern economy, or be competitive in the international market, Loncar pointed out.
Therefore, if through school curricula we teach students to protect human resources and biodiversity - flora, fauna, land quality, water, air, more precise climate forecasts and ways to prevent natural disasters, then we will enable future generations to preserve their environment for themselves and their descendants, the Minister of Education concluded.
