Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation Academician Bela Balint met with Matteo Colangeli, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s (EBRD) Director for the Western Balkan region, today to discuss the evaluation of completed projects and the planning of new activities.

Continued cooperation with EBRD on new science projects

At the meeting, which was also attended by EBRD Deputy Head for Serbia Jelena Čeperković and Associate Director Vasilije Jauković, Balint summarised the cooperation so far between the Ministry and the EBRD through the Project Science strategy, emphasising that the two institutions have established a successful cooperation that will continue in the same direction.
Colangeli stated that cooperation with the Ministry over the past two years has been excellent, given the efficient and successful implementation of projects.
Jauković highlighted the improvement of the country’s innovation system, noting that it has expanded significantly in recent years and now includes approximately 800 start-ups.
Project Science, financed by the EBRD, includes the expansion of the Niš and Čačak science and technology parks, the construction of a regional industrial and technology park facility in Kruševac, and funding for the construction of selected facilities within the BIO4 Campus.
