“In the period from July 2012 to the present the Serbian government, by implementing measures and activities in the affairs that fall under its competence under the Constitution, has achieved significant results in many areas of social life.
During the tenure of this government, the negotiations for Serbia’s accession to the European Union have begun, which is of historic importance for the future of Serbia.
By this, the goal of many generations that has persisted for many decades has been accomplished. Remarkably important results were achieved in dialogue with Pristina, by which the policy of protection of state and national interests in Kosovo-Metohija has been implemented in the best way possible.
The Serbian people in Kosovo-Metohija has obtained for the first time its legal and legitimate government, recognised by the international community.
Very significant results were also achieved in the field of internal reforms and the fight against crime and corruption. The image of Serbia in the international community has changed completely.
A further realisation of the government’s goals and reforms involves taking measures which, in the opinion of representatives of a number of parliamentary groups, requires the highest political support from citizens of Serbia.
In order to secure conditions for citizens to voice their opinion on the further course of the state policy and in order to acquire the broadest possible support for speedy reforms and modernisation of society, we propose that Serbian Parliament be dissolved, that new elections for MPs be held and that a new government be set up according to the expressed will of the people ”, reads the explanation of the Proposal.
