The Government of the Republic of Serbia in a caretaker capacity adopted a Decision at today’s session declaring 2027 the Year of Saint Despot Stefan Lazarević, marking the 650th anniversary of his birth and the 600th anniversary of his death.

The aim of this Decision is to preserve the memory of his contribution to Serbian statehood, culture and spiritual identity.
At the session, the Government adopted a Decision granting consent to the Decision on establishing cooperation between the Municipality of Trstenik, Republic of Serbia, and the Municipality of Lopare, Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The cooperation will cover the economy, science, culture, sport, education and tourism, as well as other areas of mutual interest.
The Government also adopted a Conclusion accepting the Report on the signing of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Cabo Verde on the mutual abolition of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, official and service passports.
The conclusion of this Agreement will create more favourable conditions for advancing political dialogue and strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
Serbia and Cabo Verde, which established diplomatic relations in 1976, share an interest in developing cooperation in the fields of the economy, tourism, sport, culture, education and high technology.
