At today’s session, the government in a caretaker capacity adopted a conclusion approving the remediation plan for the Deliblato Sands Special Nature Reserve area, for which RSD 50 million has been secured.
This conclusion establishes a unified framework for the coordinated action of relevant authorities and institutions, as well as for the implementation of remediation and revitalisation measures for the area.
The remediation plan provides for the formation of expert teams to handle remediation and revitalisation, assess the consequences of the fire, establish guidelines, carry out remediation and restoration works, monitor the effects of these activities, and propose protection measures and improvements to fire prevention and protection systems.
The goal is to remediate the consequences of the fire based on expert assessments and the established extent of the damage, while preserving natural values and enhancing the protection system of the Deliblato Sands Special Nature Reserve.
Government members also adopted a conclusion approving the initiation of the preparatory phase for establishing and developing the One Health national framework in the Republic of Serbia, which aims to create conditions for more efficient coordination and joint action among existing bodies, without creating a parallel administration or encroaching upon the existing bodies’ statutory competencies.
