Kostunica expressed concern over Bosnia-Herzegovina’s suspension of the Free Trade Agreement and he stressed that Bosnia-Herzegovina’s decision was contrary to the principles of regional cooperation.
Kostunica said he expected that the measures that violate the principle of free trade will be cancelled as soon as possible, in accordance with both countries’ commitment to the improvement of cooperation between neighbouring countries.
Cavic called for a full implementation of the Free Trade Agreement and the reestablishment of free trade between Serbia-Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina, recalling that there is clear support from the international community for free trade between countries in the region.
The officials at the meeting also welcomed the visible progress in cooperation with The Hague Tribunal and they stressed that the voluntary surrender model has yielded significant results. They also pledged to step up cooperation between the two countries’ governments in order to meet international obligations in full.
Also attending the meeting were Serbia’s and Bosnia-Herzegovina’s interior ministers, Dragan Jocic and Darko Matijasevic respectively, who announced the signing of a memorandum on cooperation between the two countries’ police forces in combating organised crime.
It was also agreed to step up cooperation at the ministerial level in order to improve economic ties and settle mutual debts.
