A press release of the Ministry of the Interior states that the Serbian legislation was introduced through presentations, which included topics such as the strategic framework for internal security, human trafficking, arms trafficking, sexual exploitation of children, the fight against terrorism, economic crime, police cooperation, integrated border management and falsification of the euro.
Experts from the Prosecutor's Office for Organised Crime, the Public Prosecutor's Office, the Directorate for Prevention of Money Laundering and the Security Intelligence Agency presented the fight against organised crime, cyber crime, money laundering, as well as data retention, including lawful interception of telecommunications.
They also presented the legislative alignment, institutional frameworks and cooperation between Serbian, regional and international institutions.
Representatives of the Ministry of the Interior responded to questions of EU experts related to the introduction of specific EU standards in the legal system of Serbia, as well as their practical application.
During the discussion, they exchanged experiences, and Serbian representatives were given concrete suggestions and guidelines for further work, the statement adds.
