Mrkic is attending the 20th OSCE Ministerial Council in Kiev today and tomorrow, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
During a working lunch of heads of delegations, Mrkic delivered a speech in the opening debate together with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara as the host and Foreign Minister of Switzerland Didier Burkhalter.
Mrkic had bilateral meetings with German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Canadian Foreign Minister John Baird, Croatian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vesna Pusic, Montenegrin Foreign Minister Igor Luksic, Norwegian Foreign Minister Borge Brende, Slovak Minister of Foreign Affairs Miroslav Lajcak and Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic Jan Kohut.
On the first day of the conference, Mrkic also had bilateral meetings with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova Natalia Gherman, Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt, Foreign Minister of Mongolia Luvsanvandan Bold and representative of the Holy See Dominique Mamberti.
Mrkic also had a short meeting with Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Davutoglu.
Mrkic also spoke with US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian AffairsVictoria Nuland and President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Ranko Krivokapic.
Bearing in mind the consecutive chairmanship of Switzerland and Serbia over OSCE in 2014 and 2015 and the reforms in the organisation, this year's presidency over the OSCE Ministerial Council bears special importance for Serbia and the future strategic framework of OSCE activities.
On the second day of the session of the OSCE Ministerial Council, Mrkic will meet with Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Burkhalter, Georgian Foreign Minister Maja Panjikidze and Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Erlan Idrissov, as well as High OSCE Commissioner on National Minorities Astrid Thors and OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier.
