Serbian government sends harshest protest to Turkish authorities over statements of Prime Minister Erdogan

The Serbian government assessed at its session today that statements of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan in Kosovo-Metohija represent a severe violation of international law and interference in internal affairs of the Republic of Serbia.
The government underlined that such statements directly harm the relations between Ankara and Belgrade and hinder Serbia’s efforts to normalise the situation in the region, especially in Kosovo-Metohija.
The Serbian government will deliver the harshest protest possible to Turkish authorities and request an immediate explanation for such behaviour.
The Serbian government hopes that the EU, through its competent authorities, and in all capitals of the member states, will take proper measures towards Turkey, as is the custom in similar situations, bearing in mind that this is an act that harms the peacekeeping process in the southern Serbian province.
