According to a statement by the Ministry of Defence, the two officials noted that bilateral military relations are a very important and developed part of the overall traditionally good relations between the two countries.
The Minister thanked Norway for its considerable support and help in the reform of the defence system of Serbia.
The two officials expressed gratitude over the joint engagement of military forces of Serbia and Norway in the multinational operation in Chad, and an interest to continue with that cooperation.
New projects and forms of cooperation were discussed, with the focus on the projects in the field of the fight against corruption and energy efficiency.
The Norwegian Ambassador underlined that cooperation with Serbia is the most intensive comparing to cooperation with other members of the Partnership for Peace which aspire to become members of the EU, and he added that he hopes that the level of cooperation with Serbia will grow.
Owing to the principled support from Norway, Serbia is participating actively in the military medical troops of the Balkans.
The Ministry of Defence is also grateful to Norway for the deployment of a light field hospital, which will be completed by summer 2014 at the latest.
In the upcoming period we want to continue strengthening relations with Norway and we are interested in advancing all existing forms of cooperation. In view of the fact that Norway is the European leader in energy efficiency, we are ready to learn and see how we can apply their experiences in our defence system, Rodic underlined and once more invited Norwegian Minister of Defence Anne-Grete Strøm-Erichsen to visit Belgrade, it is added in the statement.
