A delegation of the Ministry of the Interior led by State Secretary Vanja Vukic, who is Chief of the Negotiating group for Chapter 24 which covers justice, freedom and security, continued the explanatory screening in Brussels, reads a statement by the Ministry of the Interior.
The issue of external borders of the EU and the Schengen system, which allows free movement of people, goods and services, was particularly considered.
The EU experts presented the legal framework regulating the field of external borders and Schengen system, and representatives of the Ministry of Interior asked a number of issues related to the implementation of specific EU standards in the existing legislation of the Republic of Serbia.
Additional questions were asked by the representatives of the Ministry of the Interior who are actively following screening by video link in Belgrade and are in constant communication with the delegation in Brussels.

EU experts also explained the functioning of the European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the External Borders (FRONTEX), based in Warsaw.
