Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica underlined today during the meeting with World Bank Director and Regional Coordinator for South Eastern Europe and Central Asia Orsalia Kalantzopoulos that one of the government’s priorities is the creation of a favourable business climate and reminded that a large number of laws were adopted to govern the economy.
Kostunica said that by the end of March a positive assessment of the Feasibility Study was expected, which is the first formal step in the process of accession to the EU. He added that progress had been made in cooperation with the Hague Tribunal through the model of voluntary surrender, which the government favours. Serbian Minister of Economy Predrag Bubalo also took part in the talks.
Kalantzopoulos positively assessed economic trends in the country and said that the World Bank wishes to encourage the projects which it finances in the area of education, health, and transport infrastructure.
Kostunica, Bubalo and Kalantzopoulos agreed that macroeconomic stability was achieved in Serbia and expressed their readiness for further cooperation on concrete projects.
