Minister of Justice and Public Administration Nikola Selakovic and US Ambassador to Serbia Michael Kirby noted today that the relationship between the two countries in the field of the judiciary, realised through support of the USAID, is good.

Selakovic underlined that support of the United States through activities of the USAID was very important for building the system of misdemeanour courts in Serbia, whose relevance for the efficiency of the judiciary will become even more visible after the adoption of a new bill on misdemeanours.
The Minister also expressed his gratitude for the considerble help which the USAID provides to the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration in the organisation of public debates and for expert assistance in drafting new laws.
Kirby underlined that the USAID will continue to give support to the Serbian judiciary through boosting the capacity of courts and advanced training of staff.
