Minister of Justice and Public Administration Nikola Selakovic and Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia Peter Burkhard agreed today that the situation in the Serbian judiciary has become stable over the last few months.
During the meeting with Burkhard, Selakovic pointed out that in the recent months the Ministry worked on addressing the most urgent problems in Serbia’s judiciary system.
The Minister recalled that Serbian parliament adopted amendments to several important judiciary laws and two national strategies – for judiciary reform and fight against corruption.
Burkhard congratulated Serbia for getting the green light for the start of EU accession negotiations and added that reform processes that are now ahead of Serbia must be carried through because they are very important for citizens and they will also influence the speed of the negotiations.
He underlined that Serbia’s judiciary system has become stable over the last few months and that the OSCE Mission to Serbia has been actively involved in the preparation of the strategies.
Also, Burkhard commended the systemic approach to solving problems, especially in changing legislative framework.
