Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica said today at a meeting with a Norwegian parliamentary delegation led by Jorgen Cosmo that the solution to the problem of Kosovo-Metohija is to grant it the widest autonomy within Serbia and the state union of Serbia-Montenegro without a change of borders.
Kostunica pointed to the very difficult position of Serbs and non-Albanians in the province and to the fact that their basic human rights are being violated.
The Norwegian parliament speaker said that the problem of organised crime in Kosovo is a major problem for all of Europe.
Cosmo stressed that his country will offer full support and assistance to Serbia-Montenegro in the European integration process.
Kostunica said that Serbia-Montenegro has made significant progress in cooperation with The Hague Tribunal and that a favourable assessment of the Feasibility Study is expected. That would strongly encourage the preservation of the state union of Serbia-Montenegro.
The Serbian Prime Minister and the speaker of the Norwegian parliament agreed that the two countries have traditionally good relations and endorsed the improvement of economic and cultural cooperation.
