Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Mrkic and UNMIK Chief Farid Zarif agreed in New York today that UNMIK is a very important factor of stability in Kosovo-Metohija which will continue to be irreplaceable.
Mrkic and Zarif spoke at the UN headquarters,
on the eve of tomorrow’s session of the Security Council at which the regular quarterly report of UNMIK on the situation in the province will be examined.
Mrkic underlined that the presence and activity of UNMIK in Kosovo-Metohija is of great importance, and that its work must be impartial.
Zarif informed Mrkic in detail about the security situation on the ground and added that changes are noticeable in Kosovo-Metohija after the signing of the agreement between Belgrade and Pristina in Brussels, reads a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
