Serbian nationals arrested in Libya released

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today that five citizens of Serbia who were in late August 2011 arrested in Libya have been released.
The statement said that following an investigation carried out by the competent Libyan authorities, in cooperation with the security services of Serbia, the court proceedings ended on 20 May and it was determined that there was no evidence that the Serbian citizens committed any criminal offence.
The five citizens of Serbia expressed their gratitude to the military and civilian authorities in Libya for correct and human treatment.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses gratitude to the interim government of Libya, and also expressed the hope and belief that the situation in Libya will stabilise.
