Speaking at a conference held on the occasion of the joint project of the EU and the Council of Europe "Strengthening the capacity of the police and judiciary to fight corruption in Serbia", Vucic explained that with the adoption of this document the last condition will be fulfilled, i.e. the job Serbia needs to do on its path to the EU and for the benefit of its citizens.
He reiterated that the fight against corruption and crime is one of the crucial and most important things the Serbian government deals with.
According to him, Serbia now needs help of the EU to expand knowledge and get specialist training for officials dealing with fight against corruption and crime.
Prosecutors, law enforcement agents and judges will acquire more and more knowledge as Serbia gets closer to the EU, and the rule of law will not be just a word on paper.
Vucic expressed his hope that Serbia will be able to boast about the level of the rule of law and the results in the fight against corruption and crime and that it will not leg behind other European countries in this matter.
He thanked European Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fule on the support he gives to Serbia on its path to the EU.
